From the admin area of your site, click Design and then click on Website Text. Under Home/Welcome Pages, find Article 2 (Default.asp). Click on the number 2, and then upload the image via the Easy Editor tool. Click “Copy HTML to Parent Window”, save your changes and now your new graphic should be on your homepage.

The History of the Christmas Tree
There are many stories and speculations over the origin of the first Christmas tree and although we can’t be certain on the source, there are several clues that point to where this custom came from. It is said that thousands of years ago, people believed evergreens held magical powers, staying green and healthy even in the harshest of winters. Eventually, this tree would move indoors. Legend has it that indoor tree decorating began in Germany with Martin Luther, when he brought a tree indoors and adorned it with candles to represent stars between the branches of the night sky. The custom quickly spread in Germany and then throughout the world. In the mid 1800’s, decorations were mostly homemade with young women spending hours preparing ornaments for their family trees. The 1960’s were quite the opposite, when silver aluminum trees were imported from America equipped with their own light source and decorations to boot! Although the tree itself has seen many changes over the years, the idea remains a Christmas tradition in many households throughout the land.

The History of Thanksgiving
After a long and arduous journey, the Pilgrims aboard the Mayflower reached their final destination at Plymouth Rock on December 11, 1620. A year after their arrival, the first American Thanksgiving took place to celebrate a plentiful harvest after a long and bitter winter. The three-day feast included ninety one American Indians, whom many believe the Pilgrims would not have survived without. Several years later there were many discussions over the official day of Thanksgiving, including controversy over its formal date. From 1939 to 1941, Franklin D. Roosevelt, in an effort to lengthen Christmas shopping, proclaimed Thanksgiving as the third Thursday in November. Unfortunately for online sellers, the lengthened shopping season was quickly overturned. The official date was changed in 1941, when Thanksgiving was sanctioned by Congress as a legal holiday to take place on the fourth Thursday in November of every year.

The History of Halloween
Halloween dates back to Celtic rituals performed thousands of years ago. On the night of October 31^st, the Celts believed that the ghosts of the dead would revisit the earth. Many moons later, the first official Halloween celebration took place in the United States. That cold day in 1921 set the stage for many celebrations to come and Halloween quickly became a holiday donned with costumes, parties and an over indulgence in candy!
