Hi Lisa!

Great question. If you purchased an SSL from Volusion before, please contact our Account Services department at 1.800.646.3517, option 3. They can pull up your account across multiple domains to see which certificate you previously purchased, then walk you through the process of securing the same one for your new domain.

Hope this helps!

I need to renew our SSL Certificate - but I have not done this for this domain before. when I go to select the desired SSL Certificate on the renewal page it does not tell me which one I had before and I would like to use the same one again. How do I go about finding out which SSL certificate I originally had on my site?

At Volusion, we install the SSL certificate for you. There is no restriction against using one on shared hosting. An SSL certificate is only useful in protecting information that others may want to intercept during transmission from browser to server (such as credit card details). It would only be useful on a forum with restricted access where sensitive information is posted for members only, and third parties may be attempting to intercept the posts as they are transmitted from members’ browsers to the forum’s host.

Well, can we know how to install the SSL certificate? Do the Volusion personals helps in the installation of the SSL certificate? Also, can this be installed in sites that are hosted at shared server? Also is there any need to install it in Forums? If yes, then how can it be helpful in the case of a forum ?
