You, my friend, are a business owner.
Interestingly enough, I’ve talked to several people at various shows and events that don’t see themselves that way. Instead, they see themselves as just an average person with a website. These folks, unfortunately, are selling themselves short. Even worse, they’re missing out on key opportunities to improve their business mindset, which will naturally lead to more efficient and successful business operations.
Learn how to unleash your inner entrepreneur by watching today’s video, where you’ll receive five tips to help improve your business mentality and be a better business owner.

Here’s the post if you’d like to read along:
Hi, everybody! My name’s Matt, and I’m the Social Media Manager here at Volusion. Welcome to Two Minute Tuesdays, where we bring you two minutes of ecommerce advice to bolster your online success.
We’re always looking for personal development and personal growth, and when you mix that desire with your business, you’re looking at more success. So pay close attention, because today I’ve got five ways for you to become a better business owner.
First and foremost, you need to actually consider yourself as a business owner. Guess what? You own an online store. You are an entrepreneur. You are a business owner! Don’t think of yourself as just some person who happens to sell online. Instead, get in the business mentality. It will set you up for success throughout the rest of these tips.
My second recommendation is to delegate wherever you can. This can be hard if you’re a one-person show or have a smaller team, but avoid the temptation of doing everything yourself because you’ll soon become overwhelmed. If there’s something that someone else can help you out with, go ahead and let them do it for you.
Number three, and this is a great saying especially for business, see the forest for the trees. While you’ll always have to work through a lot of small details, don’t let those get to you. Instead, always keep your main objectives at heart. Plow through those trees. You’ll see the forest, and that will be a very successful one.
Number four on our list: develop your skills. I know it’s hard to focus on personal development when you’ve got 1,000 things going on all at once, but try to set aside some time to learn more. Read more about marketing, learn more about web design, learn more about your trade or just read something completely different from what you’re used to. It will build you as a person, and a stronger, smarter you will help propel your business to success.
Last, but not least, always aim higher. To do so, you must have big scale objectives. Celebrate your wins every time you hit a milestone, but once you’ve hit it, be sure to set the bar even higher for next time. Go after those even higher goals, you’ll have the most success you’ve ever seen.
Keep these five tips in mind when you’re trying to grow your business and yourself. You’ll have a lot more success and be a lot happier.
