Hi everybody! My name is Matt and I’m the Social Media Manager here at Volusion. Welcome to Two Minute Tuesdays, where we give you two minutes of ecommerce advice to bolster your online success.
If you have a Facebook page, you’re probably wondering how you can get more fans and how to get them more interested in your content. So, to help you out, I’ve put together 5 idiot proof ways for you to fix your Facebook page.
First and foremost, you need to make your page pretty. Remember, your Facebook page is nothing more than an extension of your online business, and therefore, an extension of your brand, so you want to create a great first impression. Make sure your profile picture looks professional, your posts are optimized and correctly formatted and make sure that all tabs on your page look good.
Second, stop being so sales oriented. If people come to your Facebook page and all they see are discounts, they’re going to lose interested quickly. People are coming to your Facebook page to have fun, but if you’re constantly selling to them, they’re not going to be that interested in you.
Third, don’t be a Kardashian. What do I mean by this? If you’re fans of any of the Kardashian’s Facebook pages, they update with nonsense anywhere from 10-12 times a day. Your customers aren’t going to like that. In fact, the number one reason that people unlike a business page is because they’re posting too often. Thus, keep your posts down to about one or two times a day and provide content that people really want to see.
Fourth, find your most popular posts. You can do this by using Facebook insights to see which of your content pieces got the most engagement or views. This allows you to figure out what content you should create in the future to ensure that you’re providing information that people actually want to hear.
Finally, mix up your content. If you’re posting nothing but Facebook status updates, you might want to mix it up a bit. Try a poll, upload a picture or video, or try a contest. If you mix up your content you’ll get people excited, keep them coming back, and more importantly, engaging with your brand to buy.
