Volusion Hosts Its Annual Basketball Tournament…Amid Controversy

In honor of the NCAA basketball tournament, Volusion decided to host its own round of hoops. Last week, Cris “Jimmy Chitwood” Angelini reigned superior by just topping Adam Hensley in a 9-8 shootout. Adam would have his revenge in week two by scoring an unprecedented twelve baskets in one minute, just topping David House’s eleven.

“It was awesome, baby, awesome! That little diaper dandy was really on fire out there!” exclaimed Dick Vitale.

How did Adam come out on top this week? “I didn’t take last week’s loss too lightly. For me, winning’s in my blood. I came in three hours early everyday just to practice shooting. If I were up to me I’d be doing sprints too, but apparently Sandra said that wasn’t part of the contest.” Adam also hired Cris’s former coach, Terra Ickes.

“Yeah, there’s some bad blood there. Terra was my coach and ditched me midweek. I’m sorry, but that’s just wrong.” Cris scored seven but did not find the hot hand today. The Vegas odds for Angelini were 2:1 over all employees, but Ickes’s decision to switch to the Hensley team was not made public until hours before the contest.

Terra claims that the decision was professional, not personal.

Do NOT anticipate to see any Volusion employees playing basketball this weekend in San Antonio. You can find the full competitive photos at Volusion’s Flickr feed.

Volusion Offers Non-Profits Online Stores for Free with “Stores to Change the World”

stores to change the world Non-profits help cancer patients. Non-profits bring aide to third world nations, improve literacy rates, help those with disabilities and diseases, and improve our technology and research. When we lament the world’s problems, it is the people at non-profits who are actively working to solve those problems every single day.

Volunteers and staff at non-profits are helping change the world.

To assist their efforts, Volusion, a world-leading provider of ecommerce solutions, has now launched Stores to Change the World. Ten non-profits will receive Platinum Level stores each month for no monthly fees. Each store will include all of the standard features of a Volusion store– secured and reliable hosting, access to award-winning shopping cart software, 24/7/365 domestic phone support and pain-free software upgrades. Eligible non-profits will be able to sell merchandise, downloadable material such as books and speeches, as well as accept donations directly on their site. Their store can connect with PayPal, Google Checkout, or a merchant account for accepting credit cards directly.

Volusion’s COO Clay Olivier is optimistic about Stores to Change the World. “A lot of non-profits don’t have the budget for expensive developers. That shouldn’t mean they can’t leverage the web to raise money and awareness for their cause. We have a solution that allows them to do this on their own, and we are happy to offer it to non-profit agencies to help them fulfill their purpose.”

All non-profits with 501(c)(3) documentation are encouraged to sign up for a 14-day trial of Volusion’s award winning software and submit documentation for their free store. For more information, please visit us at Stores to Change the World.
